BEA Systems has published a benchmark of its CEP offering - Weblogic Event Server - demonstrating microsecond-level latencies when processing one million events per second. The benchmark was run on Intel's Caneland platform, compring four quad core processors.
The application used for the benchmark implements a front office signal generation scenario in which the application is monitoring multiple incoming streams of market data watching for market conditions that trigger actions. At an injection rate of one million events per second, the average event latency was 67.3 microseconds.
The platform included BEA's Weblogic Real Time 2.0 Java Virtual Machine, and Red Hat's Linux V5.0. Click for the BEA benchmark datasheet.
