STAC Report: Informatica's 29West LBM 3.6.1 with Cisco Catalyst 4900M and SolarFlare

STAC has released a second audited STAC-M2 Benchmark of products from Cisco, Solarflare, and Informatica (29West). This stack (SUT ID LBM100414) was the same as SUT ID LBM100402, except the switch was a Cisco Catalyst 4900M:

- Informatica’s 29West Latency Busters Messaging v3.6.1
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux v5.4
- Cisco UCS C200 M1 Server
- 2 x quad-core Intel Xeon X5570 2.93 GHz processors
- Solarflare Solarstorm SFN5122F 10GigE Dual-Port NIC with OpenOnload
- Cisco Catalyst 4900M 10GigE Switch

In each of the use cases where latency is a key end-user priority and messages are passed as opaque buffers, mean latency of this stack did not exceed 16 microseconds when measured at the base message rates set by the specs. Standard deviation of latency (or "jitter") in these cases was just 1 microsecond. The highest throughput tested with one Producer was 1.3 million messages per second, rising to 2.1 million messages per second with two Producers.

This is the sixth STAC-M2 Benchmark made available to STAC Benchmark Council members and the third made available to the public.
